Water Safety Trips

Periodically the Bridge 19-40 Canal Society provide Water Safety trips for local schools.

These took place between 22nd and 26th March in 2010, and catered for 300 Pupils and carers. For these trips, we hire the larger boat Re-union, and these trips are carried out in conjunction with education authorities, police and canal authorities.

Bridge 19-40 Canal Society

The Bridge 19-40 Canal Society exists to encourage the people living in the communities alongside our patch of canal to take an interest in the canal and help maintain it as a pleasant amenity.
We focus on the stretch of the Union Canal between Bridge 19 (Just east of the M8), to Bridge 40 (Just west of Philpstoun), which is how the society gets its name. However our main passenger operations run from Port Buchan, just off West Main Street in Broxburn.

The Bridge 19-40 Canal Society is a company limited by guarantee, registered in Edinburgh and it is also a registered charity no SC023110.
