The 2004 Scottish Boat Show
Roseann again attended the Scottish Boat Show at the Falkirk wheel to give trips to members of the public. This was a big event for her and her crew as it was the first time she had been through a lock and on the wheel. She thoroughly enjoyed the event even although it was a bit wet for both wheel trips. At the show she was bedecked with our banner and a canal Boat banner as they very kindly sponsored the boat trips. For the three days of the show she was driven by Dave and Iain with Ian doing his superb job as bank side marshal making sure that all boarding etc was carried out safely and extracting the cash from the passengers. Over the three days we carried 208 passengers which is not an enormous number but there were four boats doing trips and one of them carried 36 passengers. We also had a display at the show and a sales tent and this was manned by Ann, Tricia and Andy. Between us all we spread the word about our society and our new boat and we have attracted a few more members to join us.
Here are some photos which Dave took of the boat trips. Unfortunately, we have no photos of Roseann in a lock or on the wheel but it was wet both going down and coming back up.
